A pro-Palestine supporter has been dramatically arrested at a march after she allegedly tossed eggs into the crowd.

A woman has been arrested for allegedly throwing eggs into the crowd during a Labour Day march in Brisbane.

The woman, understood to be a pro-Palestine supporter, was detained by police during the march, which took place in Fortitude Valley on Monday morning.

Queensland Police said the activist allegedly caused a “political disturbance” and was subsequently arrested.

“The woman allegedly attempted to interfere with the march, with officers attempting to move her on peacefully,” QPS said in a statement.

“She failed to comply with police direction and was subsequently arrested.”

NCA NewsWire understands eggs were thrown into the crowd, near Queensland Premier Steven Miles and other marchers.

The woman was held against a glass wall and handcuffed before she was moved away from the crowd.

The woman has not been charged with any offence, but investigations into the incident are ongoing.

The Labour Day march was led by the premier, alongside his daughter, and Treasurer Cameron Dick, Industrial Relations Minister Grace Grace and the Queensland Council of Unions.

Multiple unions joined the march, chanting: “What do you do if workers; rights are under attack, stand up and fight back”.

Crowds of pro-Palestine protesters descended on the march, many waving Palestinian flags and holding signs which read “stop the genocide”.
