‘You will be missed’: Woman who died after falling from Kangaroo Point Cliffs named as Fernanda Morella
The woman who fell to her death from cliffs in Brisbane was celebrating her birthday when the terrible accident happened.
The woman who fell to her death from cliffs in Brisbane on Tuesday evening had been celebrating her birthday, according to a friend.
Emergency services were called to the Kangaroo Point Cliffs on River Terrace about 5pm on Tuesday after Fernanda Morella, 33, accidentally fell.
The Brazilian woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Tributes, all written in Portuguese, have flowed online for Ms Morella who has been remembered as a “sensitive and loving person”.
One friend wrote a heart-wrenching post detailing how she heard from Ms Morella, who had been celebrating her birthday.
“(She) always called me, always loved me, always been present,” the post began.
“We didn't talk much this week but we always talk, every week we video called.
“Yesterday was her birthday, she sent me one ‘I love you’.
“God bless the family and all of us your friends!”
Another post read: “How it hurts to say goodbye, doesn't it??? At these times words are so shallow and can’t be enough to demonstrate our pain!
“You will be missed!!! You will always be in our hearts!
“Thank you for one day giving us the privilege of having you in our lives!”
Police are investigating the circumstances behind Ms Morella’s death but do not consider it to be suspicious.
A Queensland Police spokesman said it was likely a case of misadventure.
