Police allege shock twist in crash death as woman charged with murder
A woman has been charged with murder after a man was hit by a car last year, with police alleging not all was as it first seemed.
A shocking twist in the death of a Queensland man has been alleged by police after a woman was charged with his murder.
Stephen John Berka, 62, was struck by a car while walking along Stringybark Rd in Buderim close to 2am on May 16 last year.
He suffered critical injuries and later died at Sunshine Coast University Hospital.
After extensive investigations into the crash, police charged Ashleigh Jayde Gyorosi with his murder on Thursday.
Police will allege Ms Gyorosi, 29, stabbed Mr Berka before he was struck by the vehicle.
The driver of the car is not connected with the stabbing.
Ms Gyorosi briefly appeared in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Tuesday and will reappear on May 21.
