Police have determined missing mum Tayla Spies’ location an hour after she was last seen driving through a small western Queensland town.

New details have emerged following the disappearance of Queensland mother Tayla Spies, who went missing two weeks ago.

Police said Ms Spies’ mobile phone data placed her east of Surat about an hour after her car was seen driving through the town.

“From there we don’t know where she’s gone,” Queensland Police Detective Inspector Garry Watts told Seven on Monday.

Inspector Watts said investigators were searching a “big area” about 5000sq km wide, with the phone data reportedly unable to narrow down a smaller search area.

“(It’s) south of Yuleba, Glenmorgan, Meandarra, those sorts of areas in outback Queensland,” he said.

It is understood police are no closer to locating Ms Spies than they were when her disappearance was first reported, with police and family growing “very concerned” according to Inspector Watts.

Police released CCTV footage last week of Ms Spies just hours before she vanished.

The 29-year-old was last seen leaving a hotel in Dalby about 8am on Sunday February 2.

“We have grave concerns about the health and safety of Tayla,” Inspector Watts told the ABC.

“She had a birthday just recently, she didn’t make any contact with family, which is really out of character.”

Footage shows Ms Spies carrying a large bag into her white Toyota HiLux, before she travelled towards Surat, a small town about 500km west of Brisbane.

Her vehicle, which has a distinctive black bumper bar, blacked-out wheels, and Queensland registration 559 GJ7, was last seen at the intersection of Burrowes Street and Cordelia Street in Surat at 11.10am.

Anyone travelling between Dalby, Surat and surrounding areas, between the hours of 10.30am and 12.30pm on Sunday February 2, has been urged to check their dash-camera footage.

Ms Spies is described as caucasian with brown shoulder length hair, blue eyes, slim build, approximately 170cm tall, and has the word KARMA tattooed across her chest.

Inspector Watts said the fact Ms Spies hadn’t made contact with her children was “out of character”.

Police said Ms Spies was last seen wearing a fluorescent pink long sleeve shirt and light-coloured shorts, however, her sister Rebecca said in a social media post she may be wearing different clothes now.

“She did end up changing into a white shirt with purple writing on it and a Mimco shoulder bag in the afternoon on Sunday,” she wrote.

The family has appealed to the public for any information on the missing woman.

“Please, if anyone has seen Tayla or her car, report it asap! We just want to know she’s okay and safe!” Rebecca said.

Ms Spies had been in Dalby for the weekend but was planning to return home to Roma before her disappearance, Inspector Watts said.

Anyone who may have any information about her whereabouts is being urged to immediately come forward.
