A motorbike rider is dead and an 11-year-old girl is fighting for life in hospital after a shocking crash in Queensland’s north.
A 59-year-old man is dead and an 11-year-old girl fighting for life in hospital after the motorbike they were travelling on smashed into a ute in Queensland.
The man crashed into a ute travelling in the opposite direction on Sugarshed Road west of Ridolfis Road at Erakala, near Mackay, on Saturday afternoon.
He died in hospital. The 11-year-old girl, who was riding on the back of the bike, was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries, Queensland Police said.
The 30-year-old ute driver was not injured.
Anyone with information is urged to come forward.
