A man’s body has been found inside a car submerged in a harbour, but accessing it is proving difficult for this reason.

A body has been found inside a car submerged in a harbour.

Police are investigating after a man’s body was found inside a car in the water at Mackay Harbour on Queensland’s east coast.

Officers were called to the scene just after 7am.

The car is wedged under an eight tonne pontoon, according to The Chronicle.

A crane is also on site to lift the pontoon so the car can be accessed, while specialist diving crews are on site.

The body was reportedly found in the driver’s seat of the car.
