Man smashes car window, assaults woman in alleged road rage attack
Shocking footage shows a man smashing a car window and assaulting a woman in a horrific alleged road rage attack south of Brisbane.
A woman has been injured after a man allegedly smashed a car window during a road rage incident south of Brisbane on Tuesday.
Police were called to Chambers Flat Road at Logan Reserve about 3pm on Tuesday to reports a man had approached a car stopped at a red light and smashed the back window with his hand, where a woman and a baby were sitting.
A 40-year-old woman had suffered minor lacerations to her face as a result of the smashed glass.
The Queensland Ambulance Service assessed her, but she declined treatment or transport, a spokesperson said.
Police said the 37-year-old male driver was not injured and was able to drive away from the man before further damage was caused.
The baby was also not injured, and the man allegedly left the scene in another car before police arrived.
In a video of the incident, a man can be seen aggressively motioning at the driver of a car.
He then proceeds to punch the back window, causing glass to shatter inside the car, where a person is seated.
Witnesses told Nine News the woman had a young child with her, with one saying he saw the man banging on the window of the car saying “get out, get out.”
“The lady in the back got out and had blood all over her face,” he said.
As of Wednesday morning, a man is in custody in Beaudesert, and investigations are continuing.
