‘Heaven just got an angel’: Tributes flow for woman killed in horror Gold Coast triple fatal
A woman killed in a horror Gold Coast crash that claimed the lives of three people has been identified.
One of the women who perished in a horror head-on crash on the Gold Coast has been identified as tributes begin to flow.
Three people died after a black sedan and a semi-trailer towing a boat collided on Brisbane Rd in Arundel at about 12.24pm on Thursday.
According to preliminary police investigations, the sedan was travelling eastbound along Brisbane Rd when it crossed the median strip into the westbound lanes.
The car then hit a street light and continued to the head-on collision with the semi-trailer.
Lisa Roggenkamp, who was in the sedan at the time of the crash, has been identified as one of the women who died at the scene.
A friend of Ms Roggenkamp posted a heartwarming tribute to social media on Friday.
“Heaven just got an angel,” the friend wrote on Facebook.
“Condolences to all your family you will be missed. Taken to (sic) young. LOVE YA ROGGSY.”
Another woman also sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.
A Pimpama man, 50, was transported to Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition but died from his injuries.
A 49-year-old man, who was a front passenger in the car, was transported to the same hospital in a serious but stable condition.
The semi-trailer driver was not injured but paramedics treated him at the scene for shock.
Two other people were injured when the street light came down and damaged their car.
Paramedics also treated two occupants of a fourth vehicle who witnessed the crash for shock.
The horrifying crash has sent shockwaves through the community, with Queensland Ambulance Service senior operations supervisor Adam Flory declaring it a “tragic day” on the state’s roads.
A Queensland Police spokesman said the forensic crash unit was investigating.
