It is believed she was swept off the rocks and under water for a period of time.

Footage shared by Channel 7 caught the moment her father and another man jumped in to save the girl, as another member of the public throws a flotation device down to the trio.

Rescuers on jet skis arrived on the scene at about 11.30am and began to resuscitate the girl on a rescue sled while taking her back to shore.

QAS confirmed she was flown to the Queensland Children’s Hospital in a critical condition, and her father was transported by road to a nearby hospital.
