Dead body found on Pacific Motorway at Worongary

Police have been left baffled after finding a dead body on a busy motorway in Queensland in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Gold Coast Police are trying to find out what happened to a man who was found dead on the M1 overnight.

A member of the public alerted police about an “unconscious male” on the Pacific Motorway at Worongary about 1.25am on Wednesday.

Queensland Ambulance paramedics and Queensland Police officers responded and discovered the man’s body, a police statement read.

The Forensic Crash Unit has been investigating the incident.

It’s believed the man, of an undisclosed age, had been struck by a vehicle, but investigations are still underway.

Police have urged anyone with information and dashcam footage to phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
