Child fighting for life after serious crash in Maroochydore, Queensland

A child is in critical condition after she was hit by a car while riding an e-scooter. Investigations remain ongoing.

A child is in critical condition after she was hit by a car while riding an e-scooter.

Police were called to a street in Maroochydore in Queensland’s Sunshine Coast about 8am on Wednesday following reports a 12-year-old girl had been hit by a car.

The Alexandra Headland girl was reportedly riding an e-scooter on the footpath when a Kia 4 pulled out of a driveway onto Main Road and hit the girl.

She was taken to hospital in critical condition.

The driver, a 21-year-old Maroochydore woman, is assisting police.

Police have urged anyone with information to come forward as investigations remain ongoing.
