Masterplanned community starts to take shape
A boutique masterplanned community southwest of Brisbane, set to deliver 500 homes, is attracting buyers breaking ground on their dream homes.
From first-home buyers starting a new chapter, to downsizers creating their forever homes, purchasers at Cedar Woods’ masterplanned community, Flourish, are breaking ground on their dream homes.
Purchasers have wasted no time getting to work with the first slabs being laid at the community within the Logan growth corridor.
First-home buyer Benjamin Tubb-Hearne said he and his husband Justin purchased their land early this year and were excited to start building their dream four-bedroom home, due to be completed mid-2025.
“We thought home ownership was out of reach for us in the current market, but after working with our mortgage broker and Sam from the Flourish sales team, we quickly realised the dream of owning our own home was achievable,” he said.
“In a world where rent is going through the roof, to invest in our own future and have a piece of land and a home is exciting.
“We can’t wait to live in a thriving community, surrounded by other young families and like-minded people who are also proud to call Flourish home.”
Upon completion, Flourish will deliver more than 500 homes alongside a new park, playground and a proposed future childcare centre, as well as access to established retail, schools, and essential services.
Downsizers Kamni Radhika and her husband Kumar are building a four-bedroom home.
“We chose to build our forever home at Flourish so that we could start our next chapter of retirement in comfort and be part of a friendly, peaceful and clean neighbourhood,” she said.
“We have owned property before but are building for the first time.
“We’ve had a very positive experience at Flourish and have been impressed by the masterplan since our first visit.
“I even recommended the area to a friend, and she has also decided to build a home at Flourish just two streets from us, and we are already planning our neighbourhood walks together after we move in.”
Cedar Woods development director Blair Britton said progress on the next stage was well under way with roadways and streetscapes taking shape, and registration scheduled for early 2025.
“Flourish is the newest masterplanned community to be established at South Maclean and it has been specifically designed to connect our homeowners with established amenities and growing infrastructure while being grounded in nature via the ecological corridor at the heart of the community,” he said.
“With land prices starting at $315,250 and house and land packages from $604,230, we are meeting demand for housing supply within the Logan growth corridor and bringing new supply to the local area.
“With our first purchasers beginning their builds and our leafy streets coming together, we look forward to seeing the progress in the months ahead as we set a high standard of quality living at Flourish.”
The developer was established in Perth in 1987, listed on the Australian Stock Exchange in 1994 and now has offices in Perth, Brisbane, Melbourne and Adelaide.
Masterplanned communities under construction in Brisbane also include Ellendale in Upper Kedron and Sage in Burpengary.
