Margot Robbie unveils her transformation into Sharon Tate
SHE’S played an eclectic array of characters in Hollywood blockbusters, now Queensland’s Margot Robbie has unveiled her look for a movie about one of America’s darkest chapters.
MARGOT Robbie has transformed into 1960s model Sharon Tate for Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
The Queensland star shared the first image of herself in character as the murdered actor to her Instagram page yesterday, days after Tate’s sister Debra Tate gave the film her blessing.
Dressed in white boots and a turtleneck, Robbie appeared to be a spitting image of the actor and model, who was the highest-profile victim of the 1969 Manson family murders.
The Courier-Mail previously revealed that Robbie had been sending Tarantino fan mail for years in the hope of landing a role in one of the acclaimed director’s films.
An image of co-stars Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio in character has already been released, with DiCaprio playing former TV star Rick Dalton and Pitt his long-time stunt double Cliff Booth.
Despite initially speaking out against the film, Debra Tate gave the film her approval via Twitter on Friday.
#Tarantino movie people think they know what this movie is, they donât Iâm grateful to Quentin For letting me read the script, and sitting down with me to explain his vision.

I have to protect my sisters legacy and to do what I can to make sure her memory is not exploited. I can honestly say that Quinton shares my commitment. Iâm proud to fully support his film.

The film, from Sony Pictures, will hit cinemas in Australia on August 8, 2019, the 50th anniversary of the murders.
