Step Brothers star and comedian John C. Reilly has been spotted out and about on the Gold Coast by fans and celebrities alike as he films the latest King Kong movie, KONG: Skull Island.
Reilly has become good friends with surfer Mick Fanning and wasn’t afraid to show off his skills in the water during a weekend of wake surfing alongside professional wakeboarder Cory Teunissen and photographer Corey Wilson.
“Amazing afternoon filled with way too many laughs on the boat,” Mick posted on Instagram.
“John C. Reilly showing the boys some new tricks!!!” Corey added to his social media.
It wasn’t the first occasion Reilly enjoyed a laugh with his new crew, he was also invited by Mick to enjoy a salad at Hendrixx Espresso in Palm Beach.
Owner Mark Neumann said the pair was very happy.
“There was about 6 of the boys there and everyone laughed for a solid hour,” he said.
“He seemed like a really laid back guy.
“Everyone was starstruck.
“It (meeting a celebrity) doesn’t happen down in Palm Beach.”
Even Mr Neumann’s employee Regan Botica couldn’t hold her excitement at the visitors and snapped a selfie with the star.
Reilly was joined on his adventures with his son Arlo who is reportedly a big surfing fan.
