Human remains found in Queensland’s south
A CRIME scene has been set up after human remains were found at a rural property in Queensland’s south.
HUMAN remains have been uncovered at a rural property about 160km south of Toowoomba.
Detectives said police were called to the Kerridges Rd private property in Glen Aplin, just south of Stanthorpe, after the owner located the remains about 5pm yesterday.
The ABC reports the owner found an almost fully intact skeleton “sitting” against a tree.
It is unclear how long the remains had been on the property or exactly where they were discovered.
“A crime scene has been established and forensic examination of the scene has commenced,” police said.
It comes a week after human remains were separately located in a disused septic tank at the rear of Autism Queensland’s Brighton property north of Brisbane.
There is no suggestion the cases are linked.
Anyone with information which they believe could be relevant to the investigation is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
