Ms Anderson did plead guilty to the back up charge of manslaughter but Crown prosecutor Stephen Muir rejected her plea and the trial began.

It will be alleged Ms Anderson stabbed Mr Braid in Surfers Paradise, on the Gold Coast, on April 21, 2020.

Mr Muir said 18 witnesses, including five Gold Coast police witnesses, would be called during the estimated seven day trial.

Both Mr Muir and Ms Anderson’s defence barrister, Jacob Robson, will give their opening remarks to the jury on Tuesday.

Ms Anderson remains in custody while the trial continues.
