JAKE Stone of Bluejuice stayed true to form at the Big Day Out on the Gold Coast on Sunday.
Famed for being creative with his choice of gig attire, the rocker embraced the hot weather and the Gold Coast ambiance by stripping down to a pair of DTs as he performed alongside Art vs Science.
The touring music festival rolled out at its new Gold Coast home Metricon Stadium today with a mellow crowd enjoying the sunny psychedelic-rock of Tame Impala on the main stage.
Songs like Feels We Only Go Backwards and Elephant suited the cruisy atmosphere perfectly.
The festival has had its share of turmoil and didn't need to lose headliners Blur, who pulled out of the event last year,.
But the crowds have-turned up nonetheless for a bill featuring Pearl Jam, Arcade Fire and American rapper Snoop Dogg, now converted to Rastafarianism and going under the moniker Snoop Lion.
On the side stages, Australian rockers The Drones delivered an intense set. While fans gathered en masse to see Blur replacements, including Swedish rockers The Hives and Beady Eye - the band formed by ex-Oasis members Liam Gallagher, Gem Archer, Andy Bell and Chris Sharrock.
