Customer takes to Coles Facebook page to complain about an un-Australian lack of meat in his party pie
WE’VE all read the stories about the lack of meat in the good old-fashioned meat pie. But what this Aussie bloke found is enough to break a pie-lover’s heart.
IT doesn’t get more un-Australian than this.
Steven Braszell was hoping to tuck into a few meat pies on Monday when he made a shocking discovery.
One of the party pies he bought was missing all but one tiny portion of meat.
The pastry shell left little to be desired without its filling.
Mr Braszell posted the image on his Facebook page with the comment, “tough day when you get a party pie with this much meat”.
His friends saw the funny side of the incident, posting comments including “vegetarian pie” to “pastry puffs”.
A relative suggested he share the image with the company who made the pies, so Mr Braszell shared it on the Coles customer page.
“Coles, can you explain the lack of meat in this Coles party pie?” he asked.

Fellow customer Doin Bro expressed his outrage at the lack of meat in the pastry casing.
“As a passionate meat vegan this just isn’t okay to watch happen,” he said.
“I expect to see Steven refunded the full price of the party pies and a packet of party pies for the inconvenience to his meal.”
Mr Bro signed off his message as being from “a passionate meat vegan”.
The supermarket giant has yet to respond to Mr Braszell’s message.
The Courier-Mail has also contacted Coles for comment.
