Wild arrest as three people dragged out of $100k car in Brisbane CBD

Video footage has emerged of a dramatic crash between a police car and a suspected stolen luxury car in the heart of Brisbane’s CBD.

Footage has captured the moment police officers surrounded a luxury car, suspected to be stolen, after it allegedly ran into a cop car in Brisbane’s CBD.

Three people were dragged from the car following the alleged crash, which occurred near the city’s courts complex at the intersection of George and Turbot streets about 3.30pm on Friday.

The stolen Audi Q7 is worth a cool $100,000.

Video from the scene shows a female restrained on the kerb while a male occupant is pulled from the car on to the street in a police headlock.

Police sources suggest officers in an unmarked police car attempted to intercept the Audi while it was idling at traffic lights and were allegedly then rammed by the vehicle.

A 35-year-old Labrador man has been charged with one count each of dangerous operation of a vehicle while adversely affected by an intoxicating substance, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, possession of relevant a substance (1,4 Butanediol), disqualified driving, possession of tainted property (car key) and obstructing police.

A 34-year-old Annerley woman has been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle and possession of dangerous drugs (methylamphetamine).

They will both appear before the Brisbane Magistrates Court today.

A 34-year-old Nundah man has been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle, possession of tainted property (car key) and obstructing police. He is expected to appear before the Brisbane Magistrates Court on June 16.

Two officers sustained non-life threatening injuries and were transported to hospital for treatment while the police vehicle was damaged as a result of the incident.

The Audi was reported stolen from an address in Maudsland on May 19.

Police say investigations are continuing.
