Cops’ grisly find after welfare check at Caloundra West on Sunshine Coast

Police undertaking a welfare check overnight uncovered a grisly scene when they found the bodies of a man and a woman with gunshot wounds.

Two people have been found dead with gunshot wounds on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland in what police believe is a murder-suicide.

The bodies of a Browns Plains man, 52, and a woman, 48, were found in the Caloundra West home at around 6.30pm on Monday.

Police were called to the woman’s Teal St property to conduct a welfare check, but when they arrived the pair were already dead.

Investigations are under way to determine whether the pair met online in order to carry out the act.
