Speaking to reporters ahead of the arrests on Tuesday, Gold Coast Detective Inspector Paul Fletcher said the girls involved in the alleged melee are believed to be between 12 to 16.
“To have this level of attack, which appears unprovoked at this stage, is out of the ordinary,” he said.

He said police from the force’s digital intelligence team were now “scouring” social media to find further evidence and would be attempting to have the footage removed from the platforms.
