The family of the good Samaritan who was killed in a triple fatal crash are calling for witnesses to help police with their investigation.

Terry Bishop, 65, was killed in a traffic crash alongside Gypsy Satterley, 25, and Jessica Townley, 38, on the Bruce Highway at Federal about 4am last Friday.

The Hay Point man had been travelling north along the Bruce Highway in a silver 2012 Nissan Navara dual cab utility when it was involved in the crash.

Queensland Police will allege a car being driven by a second man, 25-year-old Rafferty Rolfe, rammed Mr Bishop’s ute forcing it to cross to the wrong side of the road and slamming into Ms Townley’s vehicle.

Mr Bishop’s family have appealed for any information from witnesses about the moments leading up to the crash.

“Terry was travelling to Brisbane on Friday to attend a family member’s wedding the day following the incident,” the Bishop family stated on Monday.

“He leaves behind a wife, daughter, son and five young grandchildren who all loved him dearly.

“Our family is absolutely devastated, he is a man that would always go out of his way to help anyone in need.

“Our hearts go out to the other victims’ families and the first responders in this horrific tragedy.”

It’s understood Mr Bishop, a retiree and former long-term resident of Northgate in Brisbane, may have stopped to give Ms Satterley a lift.

The pair were unknown to each other before the crash.

Mr Rolfe has since been charged with several offences, including dangerous operation of a vehicle.

Police allege Mr Rolfe, who was Ms Satterley’s partner, was allegedly driving in a stolen car and unlicensed at the time of the crash, according to court documents.
