Queensland teenager allegedly kidnapped, assaulted and had head shaved in horror ordeal
Queensland police have found a missing teenager who was allegedly kidnapped, held captive and assaulted in a horror ordeal.
A 19-year-old who was allegedly kidnapped and held captive for two days has been found by police in Queensland.
The teenager was allegedly attacked and forced into a car on the corner of Sheridan Street and Charles Street in Cairns North on Friday, June 13, before being moved to a property where it is alleged she was further assaulted, including being hit with a weapon and having part of her head shaved with a razor.
Police commenced an investigation on Saturday after the teenager was reported missing and a member of the public alerted police to the attack.
A 34-year-old Townsville woman, Kaidii Dayl Ephaums, has been charged with 14 offences, including deprivation of liberty, torture and assault.
Police found both women in a vehicle on Sheridan Street on Sunday afternoon. CCTV footage captured the moment officers approached the passenger side of a white car, and the teenager, dressed in a hoodie with the top of her head partially shaved, stepped out.
She was taken to Cairns hospital and has since been released.
The 34-year-old woman was taken into custody.
“It will be alleged the woman took the victim to a property and refused to let her leave,” Detective Inspector Cindy Searle said.
“The offending is quite simply something that’s not acceptable.”
The alleged victim has “provided police with information about a series of assaults,” Detective Inspector Searle said.
“It has been a very distressing few days for her. We are offering her every support she can.”
The 34-year-old woman faced court on Monday and was remanded into custody. She will face court again in August.
Anyone with information is urged to contact police.
