Police: Sabrina Bremer’s mysterious final 48 hours key to her murder

SABRINA Bremer’s burning body was found 100km from where it should have been. Police are struggling to explain it, but they’ve found a key clue.

NSW Police have located a key clue in relation to the murder of mother Sabrina Bremer.

Detectives appealed for the public’s help to locate the clue, a vehicle, but on Tuesday confirmed they had found the key component to the case.

According to a police statement, Ms Bremer was believed to be travelling in the vehicle at the time of her disappearance.

“The 2002 model, white Toyota Camry sedan, with Queensland registration 282VGN was last seen in the Logan area last Monday night,” it read.

Meanwhile, detectives have released CCTV images of the murdered mother leaving a Queensland police station as they struggle to piece together the final days of her life.

The burning body of Ms Bremer, 34, was found propped up against a tree on a remote rural road in Dulguigan — 100km from her last known whereabouts — last Thursday, a day after she was reported missing by her teenage daughter.

A man driving along Pollards Rd about 7.30am made the nightmarish discovery when he noticed what he thought was a burning log on the roadside and stopped to take a closer look.

Initial reports stating the body had been tied to a tree have been dismissed by police as gossip.

Police have released CCTV of Ms Bremer leaving Logan police station on August 15, the last time anyone saw her.

Ms Bremer’s 15-year-old daughter reported her missing last Wednesday.

Locals have been traumatised by the murder, which former Tweed mayor and lifelong Dulguigan resident Max Boyd described as “one of the most horrifying things that’s ever occurred” in the area.

A team of about 50 detectives from the NSW Homicide Squad and Tweed-Byron State Crime Command has formed Strike Force Faringdon to hunt the killer down.

Ms Bremer, who lived in Logan in southeast Queensland, was last seen alive at Logan police station on Monday, August 15, after she was arrested for missing an earlier court appearance on minor drugs charges.

She was released after spending about two hours at the station and is believed to have called a man she lived with to let him know she was on her way home.

Ms Bremer in a recent picture posted by her daughter, who explained her mother appears tired because she had spent the night before in hospital having a finger stitched up.

Police have not revealed what Ms Bremer’s relationship was to the man or whether they have been able to interview him. Investigators questioned her ex-husband over the weekend. No suspects or persons of interest have been declared.

Superintendent Wayne Starling told reporters this morning “numerous” people had been spoken to, but refused to say if police had any suspects or if detectives knew how Ms Bremer died.

CCTV images released today show Ms Bremer walking out of Logan police station last Monday afternoon but her movements over the next 48 hours remain a mystery.

“There’s a great void in the timeline of her disappearance that we need to fill in,” Tweed Heads crime manager Detective Inspector Brendon Cullen told news.com.au.

“We need people to come forward if they have seen her at any point between the Monday when she left the station and the Wednesday.”

He said police were “keeping an open mind” about the possibility Ms Bremer was killed by someone known to her, or a complete stranger.

Ms Bremer’s 15-year-old daughter posted this picture of her mother when she was pregnant with her little brother, accompanied by the heartbreaking caption: ‘I love you to the stars and back.’

Police have said that Ms Bremer’s 15-year-old daughter was able to contact her mother on the phone on Tuesday but reported her missing the following day after subsequent attempts to reach her failed.

Insp Cullen declined to clarify whether the teenager had actually spoken to Ms Bremer or communicated by text message.

The girl has posted a gut-wrenching series of Facebook posts as she struggles to come to terms with the dreadful manner of her mother’s death.

Overnight she posted a photograph of a beaming Ms Beamer while she was pregnant with her brother, who is at least 10 years her junior, with the caption, “I love you to the stars and back”.

It is understood the little boy is being cared for by relatives and has not yet been told his mother is never coming come.

The daughter has written of the special bond she shared with her mother and friends have described her as loving and caring.

“She was like a second mother to all of us really,” family friend Tyeshia Sailor-Black told Nine News. “It’s like something out of a movie. Like, it didn’t feel real. I didn’t really want to believe it either.”

Another friend, Kiarra Kwasniewski, said the daughter was close enough to her mother that “there would have been something there that would have made her think that something was going on”.

She was described as being of caucasian appearance, 170cm tall, with a medium build, dark brown hair with red highlights, and a stud-piercing below her lower-right lip.

She is seen in the images dressed in a black jumper with a red T-shirt underneath, black tracksuit pants with white stripes down the side, and bright pink sneakers.
