Police officer stabbed in chin, man shot
A police officer has been taken to hospital after being stabbed by a man, who was shot by police.
A police officer has been stabbed and another man shot after an altercation at Kangaroo Point, Queensland.
On Wednesday, QLD Police closed River Terrace after an officer was stabbed in the chin.
Police had attended the address in relation to a search warrant at around 11am, but soon after the officer was allegedly assaulted and another 38 year-old man was shot by police.
The 38-year-old man was taken to hospital in a critical condition with injuries to his abdomen.
The injured police officer, a male senior constable, was also taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The address has been declared a crime scene and a stretch of River Terrace, between Bell and Llewellyn Sts, is expected to be closed for some time.
A critical incident investigation has commenced into the police response by the Ethical Standards Command.
