POLICE are looking for a man who has made the playgrounds of Gold Coast children his own broad-daylight, X-rated film set.

The man, who goes by the online handle “gcJosh”, has posted explicit videos of himself performing sex acts as people nearby pack shopping in their cars at Westfield Helensvale.

In another video, he urinates in the sand of a playground after filming more explicit footage on a swing, a slide and seesaw – again in the middle of the day.

Another video shows him meeting up with an older man in a public park, again during the day, and undertaking various sexual acts with him.

The pictures on this page were among the few the Gold Coast Bulletin judged possible to print. Most of what appears in the videos is too obscene for publication.

The man, who has pale skin, a gaunt face, very slim build, dark brown hair and eyes, is sometimes naked and sometimes wearing women’s underwear or a dress in the footage, which was posted on a range of amateur porn sites as recently as this month.

In some of the footage, which street signs indicate was filmed at Colgate-Palmolive Park at Arundel, the camera moves between images of the man in action and innocent bystanders, including a woman jogging alone with her dog and two women talking at a table metres from the toilet where he is peering over a wall at them.

Coomera OIC Sen Sgt Andrew Godbold said police were working to find the identity of the man.

“Police are looking to identify a male person who has been creating public nuisance offences within the Coomera and Southport police divisions,” he said.

This man was also filmed while using a public toilet.

“The male person has been sighted around parklands and in the vicinity of Westfield.

“The male has been spotted performing indecent acts in public.

“Police would like anyone who knows anything about these incidents or knows this man to contact Crime Stoppers or their local police station.”

Staff and parents of Paradise Kids childcare centre, next to the Arundel park, will be warned about the incidents. “On this information, we will certainly take action to inform parents to steer clear of the park,” CEO Mark Hunter said.

Footage viewed by the Bulletin does not include images of children, the childcare centre or a neighbouring hospice.

Helensvale councillor William Owen-Jones said the behaviour was appalling.

“The police need to do everything they can to catch him – there is no place in our community for that,” he said. “(Westfield) is a big shopping centre with lots of people and lots of families – this is awful.”
