POLICE have released a grainy image of a man who allegedly struck a Brisbane woman with a hammer and repeatedly stabbed her.

POLICE have released a grainy image of a man who allegedly struck a Brisbane woman with a hammer and repeatedly stabbed her.

The man, an Asian of slim build, is being hunted by police in Queensland after the shocking attack on Monday night in the victim’s Norman Park home.

Police allege the 30-year-old Singaporean attacked the woman with the hammer about 9.30pm.

She was then stabbed a number of times before the man fled the scene. The woman was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital with non-life threatening injures.

Police are treating the incident as an attempted murder.

The alleged attacker was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, red and black boxer shorts and no shoes.
