Police are investigating after a man was shot and killed at a Gold Coast address
POLICE are investigating possible bikie links to the killing of a 41-year-old man at a riverfront property on the Gold Coast this morning.
UPDATE: A man has surrendered to police following a day-long manhunt after a Nomad bikie associate was shot dead in an affluent Gold Coast suburb this morning.
Police say the 18-year-old man is assisting them with their inquiries into the death of 41-year-old father Jason Boyd at Carrara.
The man handed himself in to the Southport Police Station around 5pm.
Police are still looking for a 31-year-old woman they want to talk to over the killing. She is described as caucasian, approximately 172cm tall with a proportionate build, blue eyes and a tattoo on her neck.
The woman may be travelling in a white Holden Commodore sedan.
EARLIER: A MAN has been shot dead at a riverfront Carrara property this morning as the hunt for his killer continues.
Taskforce Maxima has been called in after Jason Boyd, 41, was killed inside the shed he lived in on Riverbend Avenue, police sources confirmed to the Gold Coast Bulletin.
It is believed Mr Boyd’s killing is linked to the arrest of Nomad bikie Sven Kelly, who was charged earlier in the week after police raided his Carrara property and charged him with possession of dangerous drugs, utensils and ammunition.
Sources close to the investigation say Boyd and Kelly were close friends.
The shed is on a slim parcel of land wedged between multi-million dollar riverfront mansions that sell for up to $15 million.
Police are hunting for an 18-year-old man and heavily tattooed Renee Moseley who they believe may be involved in the shooting.
He said police are “using every resource” to track the pair, who fled from the Carrara murder scene today.
Det Insp Marc Hogan said the public should be cautious around the pair and to call police immediately if spotted.
Moseley, 31, is described as caucasian in appearance approximately 172cm tall with a proportionate build, blue eyes and a tattoo on her neck.
The pair may be travelling together in a white Holden sedan similar to the one pictured.
Police are urging members of the public not to approach the pair or the vehicle and to immediately call triple-0 (000) if they are sighted.
Residents told the Gold Coast Bulletin locals have been petitioning to have the occupants kicked out for months.
“There’s always trouble there, they were terrorising the neighbourhood,” said a resident.
