Monster mum who served up her 16-year-old daughter to a rapist confronted: ‘F**k yourselves’

An evil mum who arranged the rape of her young daughter in a seedy hotel room has gone on an extraordinary rant after being confronted in a car park.

An evil mother who was jailed for arranging the rape of her own young daughter has lashed out at reporters after being confronted with questions about the mystery identity of her child’s abuser.

Therese Butler took her 16-year-old daughter Peta on a “girls weekend” to a seedy hotel room in Toowoomba, two hours’ west of Brisbane, in 2006.

The teenage girl was plied with alcohol and left to be raped by a balding, “extremely obese” man known only as “Thommo” as her mum sat outside smoking.

Police at the time believed Therese had information that could have led detectives to the rapist but he remains at large.

She spent 12 months behind bars on a four-year suspended sentence after pleading guilty to procuring a child for carnal knowledge.

Butler lashed out at at a Nine reporter after being approached in a shopping centre car park this week.

“I know all about Tracy Grimshaw! A Current Affair? Go and f**k yourselves,” she screamed.

Contrary to her conviction, she added: “Do you wanna know the facts? Nothing happened to my daughter, I did not set her up.”

Peta Butler relived her horrific rape in a heartbreaking interview with A Current Affair on Monday.

“(I remember) the smell, like his cologne, I remember that smell so vividly, the face stubble,” she said.

“It only lasted for a couple of minutes, but while he raped me, I had my head turned to the side, and my eyes closed while crying … I couldn’t speak.

“It was like my voice box … I couldn’t talk. I couldn’t scream out to my mum … I couldn’t do anything.”

Therese sat only a few metres away, just outside the door, as her daughter prayed for intervention.

Peta waived her right to anonymity six years ago to detail her ordeal publicly in hopes of finding justice and locating ‘Thommo’.

She has since told the media that she initially kept quiet about her assault out of fear of not being believed.

The incident was eventually reported to police almost a decade later in 2016, along with a secretly recorded phone call containing Theresa’s confession.

“It was still rape, but you were 16. I wouldn’t let him touch you under, under 16, no way,” Therese was taped saying.

“Why didn’t you come in that room and stop him?,” she added.

Therese simply responded: “scared”

“I was scared too,” Peta was heard saying through tears.

Peta later told the media that was her only option.

“I had to trick her into admitting it because there was no way if police turned up at her doorstep, there was no way she would have ever accepted it,” she said, adding her mother has never apologised.

“I’ll never receive that (apology), and I don’t expect to receive it,” Peta said.

Peta Butler’s rapist, described by Ms Butler as “extremely obese” with bulging eyes, standing at around 175cm tall, has never been caught.

“I fear for whoever he might have touched since,” Peta said.

“He deserves to be found. He deserves to be put to justice.”

Peta herself is now the mother of a 16-year-old daughter, the age she was when she was served up to a rapist by her own mother.

“My kids deserve to grow up in a house where they’re aspiring to be something,” Peta said.

“I’m doing everything I possibly can to set the example for my kids.”

“(I am) resilient, empowering, very strong. Still very emotional but… for good reasons.

“But, I am a force to be reckoned with.”

Police still urge anyone with information regarding Peta’s rape to come forward.
