Man charged with murder after horror find inside unit block

A man has been charged with murder after a 61-year-old man’s body was found inside a Brisbane unit block on Friday morning.

A man has been charged with murder after a man’s body was found inside a Brisbane unit block following an alleged altercation.

When police were called to the Vine Street unit block at Stones Corner in the early hours of Friday morning, they found the man, 61, dead inside.

Queensland Police said they believed the man died as a result of an altercation inside the unit hours earlier, though the circumstances of his death are being examined.

Then, early on Saturday morning, police arrested a 40-year-old man on the Sunshine Coast, about 100km north of Brisbane.

The man - who is believed to be known to the dead man - has been charged with murder.

He is scheduled to appear before Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Monday.

Police are appealing for any witnesses to contact Crime Stoppers.
