A man has been charged after allegedly strangling and bashing a woman while holding her against her will in a Queensland unit last night.
A man has been charged after allegedly holding a woman against her will and assaulting her in a Queensland unit last night.
Police will allege that a 29-year-old man held a 28-year-old woman against her will while subjecting her to physical and verbal abuse in Booval, Ipswich.
The woman was allegedly strangled and beaten while being held captive, resulting in juries to her head, wrists and face.
Police attended the unit and arrested a North Ipswich man at 6.30pm.
He has been charged with five offences including strangulation, assault occasioning bodily harm, deprivation of liberty and contravene a domestic violence order.
He is due to appear in the Ipswich Magistrates Court on Monday.
The woman was taken to hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
