The death of a woman, whose body was found in a car boot in Brisbane’s west, is being treated as murder.

The 31-year-old victim’s de facto partner has been arrested.

Queensland Police have said the woman body was found yesterday afternoon at a property in Raceview, south east of Ipswich.

Police attended an address on McGill Street around 5.20pm on Tuesday where the body of the woman was located in a Holden Commodore.

A neighbour had tipped Police off.

The Courier Mail has reported the woman was found in the boot of a car.

A neighbour told the paper she had heard arguing coming from the house.

“I heard him calling her lots of names,” Margaret Cobbin said.

A crime scene has been set up as police investigations continue. Both the man and woman were known to them, said police.

“A 36-year-old Raceview man was arrested late last night at the address and is currently assisting police with their inquiries,” police said in a statement.

Detective Acting Inspector Heath McQueen said the woman’s partner attended the crime scene on Tuesday night and handed himself in to police. “We have an autopsy being conducted today in relation to a possible cause of death,” she told media on Wednesday.

Anyone who may have noticed any suspicious behaviour in the area, or has any information which could assist with investigation, is urged to contact police.
