TENS of thousands of dollars worth of wakeboarding equipment has been stolen from a Carrara business after brazen thieves used a forklift in a smash and grab.
Robbers cut through the fence of a council car park to leave their black sedan in a secluded area.
They then scaled the Eastlake St building and turned off the alarm before using a forklift to ram a roller door at a wakeboard and waterski business about 11.10pm last night.
Wake boards, cash and GoPros worth tens of thousands of dollars were among the items stolen.
The forklift was again used to smash a glass window of a neighbouring excavation business and it understood computers were also stolen from that business.
Early indications are that the men fled the scene in the same black vehicle they arrived in.
Police are investigating.
