Father and sons arrested over handbag snatch
A FATHER and his two sons were arrested while allegedly trying to flee the country following a violent attack on a woman on the Gold Coast.
Queensland police are seeking the extradition of three Chilean men from NSW after a woman was hurt as she was violently robbed of her handbag on the Gold Coast.
The three were intercepted and arrested by Australian Border Force officers at Sydney Airport on Sunday in relation to the robbery of the 63-year-old woman at Carrara on March 9.
Police say the woman sustained grazing, bruising and lacerations as she was dragged 15 to 20 metres while she struggled to keep hold of her bag.
The men, aged 17, 22 and 40, are in the custody of Australian Federal Police, with the Queensland Police Service seeking their inter-state extradition.
