A MAN in Ipswich is refusing to leave a caravan and has spilt petrol throughout it, leading to fears of a major explosion.
A large exclusion zone has been set up around the caravan with residents being told to stay away from the area.
The Today show reported this morning the man may have 20 litres of petrol inside and had spilt some of it.
Police have been negotiating with the man since just after midnight when they were called to the property at Galway Crescent after reports of a disturbance. When they arrived they were confronted in the driveway by a man who was making threats.
He then went into the caravan on the property and refused to leave. The man is alone and no one has been injured so far.
An emergency situation was declared at 3.30am and the exclusion zone set up.
