Drug, weapons charges laid after Qld police allegedly find $50k stashed in baby wipes container
A woman is facing drug and weapons charges after a vehicle stop in Brisbane’s south turned into much more.
An alleged $50,000 wad of cash that was found stashed in a baby wipes container has led Queensland police to file drugs and weapons charges against a Brisbane woman.
Police said they intercepted a car on Compton Rd at Sunnybank on Tuesday morning and, due to the suspicious behaviour of the two occupants, a 37-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman, searched the vehicle.
During the search police allegedly located $49,980 in cash in a baby wipes container in the rear of the car.
This discovery led police back to a residence at Stretton where a search warrant was executed on a townhouse.
At the house police allegedly located 12 live rounds of shotgun ammunition and a large number of clip seal bags with crystal residue that were tested and confirmed to be methylamphetamine.
A 24-year-old woman from Stretton has been charged with possession of dangerous drugs and authority required to possess explosives.
She is due to face Richlands Magistrates Court on October 14.
Police investigations are ongoing.
