Brisbane siege: Man armed with knife locks himself in Wacol business
BRISBANE police have taken a man into custody, ending a siege that began last night.
POLICE have confirmed a man has been taken into custody, ending a 10-hour siege in Brisbane.
The man, believed to be armed with a knife, had locked himself in a Brisbane business late Wednesday night.
Police have been trying to persuade the man to leave the Wacol frozen foods business, where he reportedly used to work.
Armed police, along with the dog squad, had surrounded the building this morning. Paramedics were also on standby.
The man, who knows the building well, has been climbing onto the roof, the Today show reports.
Police were able to let trapped staff members out, but the man has locked himself inside.
The business is on Grindle Rd near the Wolston Correctional Centre
There are no reports of injuries.
