Teenager charged with terror offences after allegedly plotting to attack a Brisbane school

A 16-year-old boy has been charged after allegedly plotting to attack a school.

A teenager has been charged with terror offences over an alleged plot to attack a school in Brisbane’s north.

The teen was allegedly attempting to buy firearms online, according to the Courier Mail.

The Queensland Joint Counter-Terrorism Team has charged the boy with one count of acts done in preparation for, or planning, terrorist acts.

The 16-year-old boy fronted Brisbane Childrens Court on August 17.

The maximum penalty for the offence is life in prison, according to Today.

The Australian Federal Police confirmed there is no ongoing threat to public safety.
