MERCEDES Corby’s business partner at a Gold Coast bar has taken out an apprehended violence order against her.
Former pro surfer Trudy Todd opened Coolangatta’s Laneway cocktail and tapas bar with the sister of convicted Bali drug smuggler Schapelle Corby last year.
It came shortly after Mercedes Corby returned to Australia after a decade living on the Indonesian holiday island, through the duration of Schapelle’s jail sentence.
Ms Corby and Ms Todd announced the opening of the bar in Coolangatta soon after the former’s return to Australia.
Ms Corby faced Tweed Heads Local Court on Tuesday, where police applied for an apprehended violence order on behalf of Ms Todd.
Schapelle remains in Bali, as a condition of her parole.
Ms Corby said in an interview announcing the opening of the bar that Schapelle planned to come and work with her, when she was permitted to return to Australia.
More to come.
