Ex-Block star Suzi Taylor and co-accused’s trial delayed after lawyer injured outside court
The jury in the trial of an ex Block star and her co-accused - who are alleged to have extorted a man - has been discharged after a shock accident.
The jury in the trial of a former Block star and her co-accused, who are accused of holding a man against his will and extorting him, has been discharged after a lawyer was injured.
Suzi Taylor, real name Suellen Jan Taylor, and Ali Ebrahimi had pleaded not guilty to a raft of charges, including extortion, assault occasioning bodily harm and fraud, at Brisbane District Court on Monday over an incident back in October 2019.
The jury was discharged just hours after the empanelment after Mr Ebrahimi’s defence barrister Peter Nolan had an accident outside court.
A QAS spokesman said the man was taken to St Andrews Hospital in a stable condition after a fall.
Judge Suzanne Sheridan discharged the jury and relisted the trial for Tuesday.
Another jury will need to be empanelled.
