Police allege Marriage used a mobile phone to issue the threats to a government employee on September 14.
His property was raided by police on September 16 after the threats were reported.
The Nerang bricklayer argued with media in the courtroom prior to his appearance, claiming reporters were breaching his privacy and could not print his name.
Marriage, who represented himself in court, asked for a four-week adjournment to seek legal advice.
“At the end of the day I haven’t seen my kids in a year. That’s the whole reason we’re here,” he told the court.
Marriage’s case will return to court on November 4.
He describes himself as an “ex-defence wolf” on his social media pages.
Both Ms Palaszczuk and Dr Young have been consistently targeted by online trolls and threats over their tough border stance.
The abuse towards Dr Young got so bad she was assigned a police escort and had officers stationed outside her house.
Australian Medical Association Queensland president Chris Perry said the criticism was “quite toxic”.
