Brisbane inner-south suburbs on alert as exposure list explodes

Southeast Queensland’s exposure list has now exploded beyond 100 venues after new alerts were issued across three suburbs. SEE THE COMPLETE LIST

Brisbane plunged into another snap lockdown

Health authorities have issued an alert for Brisbane’s inner-south as Queensland faces its most concerning Covid-19 threat this year.

Queensland Health added venues of concern in Corinda, Graceville and Yeronga on Monday evening with the close contact venue list exploding beyond 100 sites.

The alert comes after Deputy Premier Steven Miles extended the strictest lockdown imposed on the state to Sunday after 13 new local infections were added to the Delta cluster.

A Japanese language school at St Aidan’s Anglican Girls’ School in Corinda, a sporting precinct in Graceville and a cafe in Yeronga were added to the close contact list.

Anyone who visited any of the close contact sites at the time of exposure is being told told to contact Queensland Health and quarantine for 14 days regardless of the result of a Covid test.

But health authorities urged all Queenslanders to regularly monitor the list and for all residents across the state to get tested if symptoms arise as the Delta outbreak threatens to rapidly escalate.
