Body found inside HiAce van parked on Gold Coast beach

Police have made the grim discovery during a welfare check at a popular beach carpark.

A body has been found inside a van parked at a beachside carpark on the Gold Coast.

Emergency services were called just before 8am on Monday to Doug Jennings Park at the Spit on Main Beach following reports a man was dead inside a HiAce van.

On arrival, police located the man unresponsive, and he was declared dead at the scene.

Investigations remain ongoing; however, it is being treated as a non-suspicious death.
