A man has died and several others have been injured in a five-vehicle crash on one of Brisbane’s busiest motorways.

The Logan Motorway was closed after two trucks and a car crashed about 2.50pm on Friday at Meadowbrook south of Brisbane.

Two vehicles were then involved in a minor collision with the rear of one of the trucks.

Queensland Police confirmed the driver of the first car, a 48-year-old Ormeau Hills man, suffered critical injuries and died at the scene.

A passenger in this car, a 22-year-old Coombabah man, was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Police said the drivers and sole occupants of the two trucks suffered non-life threatening injuries. They were taken to hospital in stable conditions.

The drivers and sole occupants of the two vehicles involved in the subsequent crash were not physically injured.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances of the crash.

Police have urged anyone with information or dashcam footage in the area at the time to contact them.

The Queensland Ambulance Service has urged motorists to be safe these school holidays, saying too many lives have been lost on the state’s roads in the past week alone.
