IT WAS supposed to be just another photo opportunity for Prime Minister Tony Abbott.

The PM’s visit to Kippax Fair shopping centre in Canberra this morning was a chance for Mr Abbott to pose with a local butcher. Until it went horribly wrong.

No he didn’t eat a raw sausage, but there’s no doubt the snap of him standing outside The Reject Shop will be a tough image to shake. Usually his handlers would have scoped out the route and deftly avoided such unflattering compositions, for good reason.

Totally oblivious: Mr Abbott seems unconcerned about posing in front of The Reject Shop.

The photo will provide a free kick to Mr Abbott’s critics and it didn’t take long for image to be seized on:
