THIS is the moment a guy with serious road rage deliberately rams a family car on its way to pick up kids from school.

Driving along a NSW Central Coast street with his wife in the passenger seat, Stephen expected the daily school pick up to be just like any other.

It was when, while stopped at a green light, he gave the driver in front “a couple of friendly toots” to move on, that things started to get serious.

Continuing on, Steve realised the blue sedan was now about three or four cars behind, and getting closer.

“I had a bad feeling. My wife grabbed the phone and started filming in case something happened,” he tells news.com.au.

“He swerved once into our lane then came back a second time.”

It was then that the driver deliberately slammed into Steve’s car.

“He drove his car into the side of us nearly running us into a telegraph pole.”

Steve says his wife called 000 as soon as he regained control of the car.

“We were told to grab our kids as quickly as possible and leave the area, police were on their way and a police car would meet us at a local service station. We went to the service station and got too nervous about sitting there in our damaged car in case this guy saw us,” he says.

“Once we had the kids in the car we didn’t want to hang around.”

After waiting for about 20 minutes with no sign of police, Steve said he took his family home, not hearing from police until a local officer arrived at their home later in the evening.

“They wanted to know why we left the scene,” he says.

“They said they probably wouldn’t get to look into it for another two weeks, just because of other things that they have on.”

Steve says he’s annoyed at the lack of response from police when that initial call was made.

“The problem is there’s not enough cops in the area, and road rage is a huge problem here.

“When you ring up and say someone’s deliberately rammed your car, I don’t see how it’s any different than saying someone’s threatening you with a gun or a knife.

“I’m just angry that this bloke’s still driving out there.”

A police spokeswoman told news.com.au the incident was under investigation.

“At about 3.40pm yesterday there was a call to police and police advised the driver to leave the area for their safety,” she said.

“Later that day police attended their home address and took a report of the incident.

“Police have been given footage to assist with that. They are still following it up and will try to locate the other driver who will be required to give their version of events.”
