Public holiday turns to nightmare as man pulled from surf
There are fears for a man who has been pulled out of the water at Sydney’s iconic Bondi Beach on the sunny public holiday.
A man has been pulled from the water at Sydney’s Bondi Beach on Monday.
Paramedics rushed to the scene after the man was found unconscious near south Bondi, according to 7 News.
He is in a “critical but stable” condition at St Vincent’s Hospital and is being treated in the intensive care unit.
He was found at around 11.30am on Wednesday and arrived in hospital about 12.30pm.
He was resuscitated on the sand by paramedics at around 11am, according to 9 News.
Many Sydneysiders have flocked to beaches across the city to enjoy the sunny weather during the public holiday.
The man is thought to be in his 30s or 40s.
