NSW election: Everything you need to know about voting
The countdown to the 2019 state election is on. Here’s everything you need to know about voting.
The countdown to the New South Wales state election is well and truly under way as the battle of power in NSW teeters on a knife’s edge.
We’ve done the hard work for you and found out everything you need to know about voting ahead of election day.
Firstly, you need to remember the state election is only eight days away, taking place next Saturday, March 23.
Next is to check your enrolment details and confirm you are eligible to vote. You can do this by visiting the NSW Electoral Commission website. You also need to know where you can vote and if you can get to a voting centre on election day.
A full list of voting centres is available on the NSW Electoral Commission website. Voting centres are subject to change, so it’s advised to check closer to election day for potential adjustments.
If your circumstances make it difficult for you to go to a voting centre or polling place on election day, there are early voting options available to ensure you can vote.
Early voting centres are now open until Friday, March 22, 8am to 6pm. However, if you can’t make it to one of the voting centres or polling venues, you may be eligible to apply for a postal vote. You will need to check your eligibility.
Postal vote applications can be made online or by mail. Applications close at 6pm on Monday, March 18. Completed ballot papers must be returned to the NSW Electoral Commission by 6pm on Wednesday, March 27.
