‘Let me finish’: Gladys Berejiklian snaps at reporter after Daryl Maguire questions

NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian has fired back at a reporter while being questioned about her secret five-year relationship with a disgraced former MP.

Gladys hammered with questions about ex-lover: ‘Let me finish, OK?’

NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian has snapped at a reporter “let me finish” after being cut off mid-sentence while trying to answer a question about her relationship with former Liberal MP Daryl Maguire.

“Excuse me, let me finish. I've given you your turn, let me finish,” the Premier fired back.

Ms Berejiklian went on to reiterate that what she did in her public life and her personal life was completely separate.

“I apologise for the distraction, it was out of my control. I apologise for that completely,” she said.

“I never have and never would do anything wrong by the people of this state. I have been overwhelmed by the comments and the support I’ve received.

“I would be the first one to admit if I had done something wrong but I have not.”

She said it has been hard to be open about things which are difficult to talk about but that she owed transparency to NSW residents.

“Imagine knowing someone for 15 years, someone who we trusted did the wrong thing by all of us,” she said.

Over the next two days Mr Maguire will appear before the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) to answer questions about whether his behaviour while in parliament could be considered corrupt.

On Wednesday Mr Maguire confessed he accepted cash deliveries to his parliamentary office relating to a visa scheme for Chinese nationals.

The former lover of the NSW Premier made a series of stunning admissions in front of the ICAC, agreeing he ran a private business from his parliamentary office, received cash for his role in a visa scheme, and promised clients access to high levels of government.

He appeared just two days after the Premier dropped a bombshell, confessing she was in a five year relationship with the former MP.
