THE health minister has blasted a northern beaches mum who wants to set up a family daycare for unvaccinated children.

Brad Hazzard, who is also MP for Wakehurst, called the Facebook post by mum of two Heidi Jade Street, who wants to set up vaccine free childcare ’‘extremely disturbing.”

The Sunday Telegraph reported Heidi Jade Street, who according to her Facebook page is from Mona Vale, posted on secret Facebook group Vaccine Free Australia.

Mrs Street wrote: “I would like to open a daycare in my home for 3-4 children, 2 days per week. I’m flexible with hours and days.

“I have 2 children, and my eldest son attends the local Steiner school. I have a strong passion for children’s health and wellbeing and have a beautiful nurturing soul. Children’s days would be spent among nature, a walk to the beach, learning through play and games, art and craft, yoga, dance.

“Please let me know if this interests you.”

The paper reported people who responded, also suggested setting up similar concepts in other Sydney suburbs plus as far away as Adelaide.

Mr Hazzard said Ms Street should “think carefully” about her plan.

“The lady inviting northern beaches children to be exposed to diseases that have largely been eradicated in the last 100 years through immunisation, I would just say to her that she should think very carefully and understand that watching a little baby die of whooping cough or like the little girl from the north coast this week with tetanus who is in an induced coma to keep her alive, should be at the forefront of her mind.

Mum of two Heidi Jade Street posted she wants to start an anti-vax daycare on the northern beaches.

“I am beyond belief she could do this. It’s extremely disturbing.”

Ms Street didn’t want to comment.

Northern Beaches Council family daycare services require proof of vaccination, like other childcare centres.

Children aren’t allowed to go to daycare if they haven’t had jabs.

Parents can also have benefits cut if they don’t get their children immunised.

More than 142,700 parents have been cut off in NSW, it was reported this year.

Manly had among the highest number of children not vaccinated, at nearly 16 per cent.
